Internet rap culture

My video will be exploring the idolisation of rap culture within the 21st century using gay, religious and gender references that contradict the rap culture that is stereotypically to how we know it of today, I will be exploring the fashion, background and culture and this blog is a mix up of my influences that will help me create a crazy rap video.

Cam'Ron Oh boy 2002 Roc-A-Fella Records, LLC

A lot of my influences come from the early 2000s rappers where the fashion was loud and all about diamonds and furs, the lyrics within these songs are derogatory to women and women are used as props within these videos creating the sexual selling points that are commonly used within music videos throughout the years.

50 cent PIMP ft Snoop Dogg 2003 Shady Records/Aftermath Records/Interscope Records

As much as i love this video and song it is a perfect example of how women are used as sexual props and referred to as ''bitch'' within the 21st century rap culture. Women are constantly referred to as bitches and this video captures this in a bold form by having two girls on dog collars, even though the video is very derogatory to women the fashion and the title ''pimp'' represents the 21st century rap culture, 50 cent is a rapper/artist that perfectly creates this illusion of being gangster, having the hoes, money and cars inviting the viewer into this world of gangster paradise.
